What's a call to action?

You’re probably pretty familiar with the words “Buy now”, “Add to cart”, and “Checkout”. They’re all calls to action, designed to get visitors on your site to do something. The call to action is usually the text that creates the conversion.

It may seem like calls to action are no big deal, but they’re actually pretty powerful things. You’re relying on them to drive sales, so they should be given some thought. Certain calls to action will perform better than others, and some will not fit with your store’s brand. You need to strike a balance that helps you reel in lots of sales – and that’s where The Stylish Copywriter comes in.

But a conversion doesn’t have to be about a purchase. Other common conversions include getting a visitor to sign up to your email newsletter, to subscribe to your RSS feed, or to click on a particular link.

Conversions are critical to success online - no matter what kind of conversions you’re interested in. That’s why it’s important that the text on your site supports your conversion goals.
